So I was told that usually with your first you won't really feel anything until around 18 weeks or so, but... I swear I think I just felt it. It was a weird squiggly feeling in my lower abdomen for a few seconds then went away. Was this the baby or maybe just something else? Should I be excited?

I switched OBs and had never taken the 1 hour test. Since it's mandatory by law, my new OB has me taking it. I'm taking it today, and am kind of nervous because I'm already 33+ weeks (my due date has been switched so many times that I don't know how far I am anymore).
My doctor said eat, the lab she gave me a referral for is really strict and said not to, even after I told them the doctor told me to. I saw someone come in there for it and they questioned the last time she ate. I don't want to lie to them, but my question is...
Was it easier to take because you ate or because you didn't? I have a really bad stomach so I'm trying to figured what would be best for it.
I'm going in about an hour and don't know if I should make breakfast first or not (I read high protein, so eggs and sausage were on my menu).
I just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant--I took a First Response test, and got two pink lines. My husband and I have been casually trying for a while, so I'm really excited (and nervous and scared and flipping out, too :). I have a doctor's appt next week, but I think I'm about four weeks along.
At the same time, I am literally a week away from adopting a cat. I have a kitty picked out (she's being fostered by a friend) and I was about to order cat supplies when I found out.
I know there's issues with toxoplasmosis during pregnancy when you have a cat. Is it a terrible idea to go through with bringing my kitty home? I have been waiting a long time for her, and I was so excited about it, but I don't want to do anything to hurt my baby.
Do you guys have any suggestions, experience, tips?
I was a member of this community, left, but now I am back.
I just got finished washing all of Carson's clothes (thats gonna be my baby boy's name). It was so exciting. I did not realize how much clothes he has gotten. I been buying things here and there when we go to Walmart and Target. I am pretty much ready for him to get here. Just need some bottles and formula.
I have my next appointment on Jan. 5, I will be having another ultrasound to see how big he is and will be getting checked for group B strep. It's getting so close and I am so excited. Thanks to all you ladies who have helped me through out this pregnancy. Yall are the best!!
Happy Holidays!! :)
34 weeks
EDIT: Just wanted to say that I am breastfeeding. I feel it's safe and convienent to have bottles if the little fellow decides not to latch on. If I was not breastfeeding I don't think I should get criticized for it anyways. What I decide to do is my choice.

And my real question... could anyone tell me the difference between prenatal DHA supplements and the Omega-3 fish oil capsules that also have DHA, but cost 1/4 as much? Yeah I know fish oil capsules come in an ugly brown bottle, and there's no photo of a smiling baby on the front... but it's still DHA. Personally I think this whole prenatal thing is a racket. The fish oil says "consult your doctor if you are pregnant" so I'm going to ask her, just wondered if anyone else had brought it up.
16W.
I am linking because it's excessively long and has way too many photos. I am very blessed to have a photographer for a sister who documented the process from bump to baby!
It was a Birth Centre birth that had AROM, transfer to hospital and use of Syntocinon and Epidural - for those that like to know what they're reading first!
Has anyone else or does anyone else have active babies in the womb as early as 19weeks? Im excited but a bit surprised!
However, that is discrimination isn't it? Isn't it illegal to be rejected for a promotion because of a pregnancy related basis if that is the only reason? I don't know anything for sure yet, he won't be doing interviews for another month (ironically right when I go on maternity leave or right before) but I want to be prepared in case they try to screw me over. Because I'm going to be PISSED if I don't get this job I've been busting my butt to get for an entire year because I'll be on maternity leave.
On another note... the baby has been kicking, squirming, doing karate non-frickin-stop for almost two days straight now... With maybe only an hour or two rest time. I've never had him kick this much. And believe me, it hurts. Very very painful. I don't know if he's just getting so big he's running out of room or maybe he's starting to settle into the proper position? Either way, ouchhh.
And a random rant I know only pregnant women will sympathasize with. I have all these stretch marks on the bottom half of my belly (underneath my belly button).. they just keep getting worse and worse. They're so red and inflamed and now they're almost becoming a rash. And they ITCH. Like crazy!!! I posted in here a few days ago about a rash and itching and it's gotten really bad. Especially all over these stretch marks, it's unbearable. I'm going to see my doctor on monday but this is just adding insult to injury. Isn't it bad enough to have all these ugly things on my stomach without them itching nonstop?!
Okay. I think I'm done. Hope you all had a good time over the holidays!

Alright, Christmas Eve I managed to bust my ass in the driveway on some ice. I luckily fell mostly on my left hip/ass area and the baby has been fine (of course my mom was freaking out lol). Since then I've been having some random pains in odd places.
First off is the horrible stabbing pain I get every so often with my BH contractions in my vagina, but they feel like they're way up there. Sometimes its just a dull aching and other times I feel like someone has literally just jammed a knife in me. I've also been having an occasional sharp pain in my lower abdomen and a dull aching in my lower back (like right above my butt) when I have BH contractions.
The past 2-3 hours that dull achiness has been more a sharp pain and aching that throbs with the BH in my lower back accompanied by an strong pressure in my crotch, like the feeling you have when you're really constipated.
Also, I had a strange wet spot on my shorts last night about the size of my palm. I smelled it (weird, I know lol) and it didn't smell like urine, but I passed it off as crotch sweat XD My mom is now freaking out and checking on me every 20 mins thinking I am going into labor, but I think it's a little early to be making that call.
Any insight? I'm 35w 3d.
EDIT: A lot of the achiness has stopped but I am still getting the occasional sharp pains in my lower back. I'm going to try a warm bath to see if it will make it any better, but if it gets worse I might be making a midnight trip to L&D. I hope I don't look too ridiculous if I have to go.
Someone had told me that they had ordered their Hypnobabies homestudy from the website and got it for $122.76, I think it was?
Anyway! I remember the promo code but not the site. Can someone please tell me what site it was? I just found out that I'm due February 19 (almost an entire month than my previous doctors have been telling me, but I know this one is right because I am sure of my conception week) and I REALLY need to get a move on things!
Believe it or not, I've had all of the baby stuff I need, from the cloth diapers to the baby detergent, and all I need now is to focus on the labor portion- I am nervous that I've had to wait so long to be able to afford it!
Anyway... I'd really love it if someone could lend me the study (I would have it back to you as soon as I could following the baby's birth and am even willing to pay) but, either way, I need it!
So ladies, anyone know what I'm talking about? Thank you!!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Michelle and my husband and I are trying to conceive at the moment. I had been charting my cycle and knew my highest fertility days. The earliest I can take a pregnancy test is the 29th of December. At the moment, I think I may wait until I miss a period to take a pregnancy test, as I know the sooner you take a test before a missed period, the more likely you are to get a false negative.
I was born and raised in the U.S. and am currently living in Ireland. My husband and I are definitely looking forward to this potential planned pregnancy. We already have looked into home birth and midwives in the area. I am looking forward to having a natural birth, breastfeeding, and cloth diapering. I already have a six year old son as well.
I'm so happy I found this group and have already enjoyed the posts I have read by others!

Second, I'm 15 weeks today and in the past 24 hours I have traveled to the airport, flown 3 hours, slept in a strange (and very hard) bed and been a little more stressed out than usual. Possibly connected to all of this, or possibly unconnected, my lower abdomen has been unusually sore and achy today. If I lay perfectly still, I'm fine, but moving around (or pressing on my abdomen) brings out the achyness. I'm sure this is fine and normal and all... right?
I hope you are all surrounded with love & happiness and are as comfortable as possible :o)

Just trying to plan ahead...Thanks!
Firstly, I'm relieved that my insurance finally went through, and I was able to make an appointment with an OB/GYN. And secondly, I'm relieved because the doctor, and his entire staff are fantastic people. And finally, I can make sure that my baby and I are getting the care that we need and deserve. It's been hell trying to get prenatal care, and it feels so good to be on the right track.
They ran me in for a quick ultrasound, as the doc wanted to have a peek at the baby, since I had not had my first diagnostic ultrasound yet. They did all the measurements, and the ultrasound tech put me at 21w6d, and my number had been 21w1d, so I'm a little further ahead than I had originally thought.
She said the baby is measuring great, he's even a little bit ahead of schedule. We got another little peek at his junk, and yup, he's still a boy. Baby's heartbeat was 144 bpm and strong, so that was a relief.
The only other comment that she had was that the little tube that runs from his kidneys to his urinary tract had a small section that was not quite right; the fluid just wasn't moving as quickly and freely as it should be. She said right now there's no cause to worry, and that very rarely does it ever turn into something where there needs to be a procedure done, but she just wanted to give us a heads-up so that if something does happen, we didn't feel like they were keeping anything from us. She said they'll keep an eye on it, and it will most likely clear up on its own.
Aside from that, it was great to see the little bean in there kicking around. He kept opening his mouth and taking giant gulps, and then he would stick his tongue out and swirl it around the outside of his mouth. He had all of us cracking up, haha.
But anyway, it was great to be in a doctor's office; my next appointment is on the 20th when I'll have my bloodwork and a bunch of other tests being done. I am so relieved!
Ultrasound pictures under the cut! The last one is my favorite. =]

Second apointment today! YAY! :) Everything seems to be alright, Doctor was concerned about my BMI though, and is having me do the GD tests early... PLUS refering me to the OB AND I'm going to be getting Ultrasounds every month. something to do with people who have a high BMI having more problems... Higher risks and things. (My BMI is apparently at 41, but I lost weight between this appointment and my last!)
But all in all everything was good. Belly measured at 17.5, and the heart beat was good! and very easily found. Very cooperative baby I have so far (Maybe Baby will stay this cooperative for the ultrasound on the 13th?)
So after getting through Christmas (which should be fine) I just have to deal with work. and tell my manager that, hey, I'm pregnant, Doc wants me to have water with me so I don't get dehydrated, and stuff like that. UHG.
Here goes! <3's
Any thoughts or advise?? The work day is over in less than three hours!
Thanks in advance!

I have a couple of questions:
1.) I am overweight, and I'm okay with they fact that I am going to gain weight now that I am pregnant but what are some good tips to try and keep it minimal. I have already stopped eating junk and cut soda out completely. I have been trying to make sure I eat small meals through out the day, and making sure I get a good breakfast. Are they any types of excises that I can start doing that will actually work. I've been starting to walk but I didn't know if there was actually any thing I could do to tone up? I'm not even sure if while being pregnant that is an option. I'd call my doctor but I live in a small down and all the doctors attitudes is, "if you don't have an appointment, I don't have time." They always wont even schedule an appointment until 12-13weeks.
2.) [I ask that you be supportive because I'm really trying to do this. Please nothing negative. This is a real concern I have]
I've smoked for about 5 years now and I really want to stop this pregnancy. I would say that I smoke A LOT and since I found out I was pregnant I have cut back. Only smoking a few... (A few more than I want to smoke... :[ )For all of those who have quit, what really helped you. I keep telling myself being pregnant is reason enough, but I am surrounded by people that really don't think smoking it bad and they aren't that supportive. I'm just wondering if there was anything like chewing gum, going for a walk, picking up a new hobby that helped you out? My goal is that today (I pray) I wont smoke and I'll just go cold turkey. Any positive response is greatly appreciated.
3.) I found out that I was pregnant a 3w1d and tomorrow is the day that I would have started my period. I getting EXTREMELY scared that even though I had taken many test, I will start tomorrow and miscarry. Is this possible? or am I just getting overly worried.
I still am unable to sleep... I hope that I will soon be able to. ha ha. Sorry for all my rambling...I have nothing else to do! ha ha <3 Thank you all so much

I've heard that at 37 weeks you're considered 'full term' pregnant. What exactly does that mean? Does that mean I can go into labor at any point basically at that time? I'm starting to get nervous so I was just curious what you ladies thought about that. My due dates Feb 2nd so I do have a bit to go yet. It's my first baby so I have no idea what to expect or WHEN to expect it. I've also heard with your first baby you tend to carry late but that could all be talk. I'm sure everyone's different. I'm just getting sooo nervous. :P
